How it works

Forced-reset and similar packs need the bolt to come home with authority and not bounce. A soft spring can short-stroke; a hard spring can bounce.

MBS-FRT uses magnetic damping to kill bounce, then a weighted H3-class mass so there is still enough energy to strip a round — including from linked belts in R&D fixtures.

This is a specialist buffer, not a general carbine replacement. It is shown here as a platform variant, not a consumer SKU list.

Magnetic restoring force is velocity-agnostic at first order (position-based 1/r²). Adding mass sets cyclic timing. Together they hold a return energy window that a surging coil spring cannot.

Hybrid assembly

One axis. Magnets float apart because like poles shove. Spring and copper slugs run the same direction — barrels, not coins on their side.

Floating apart

Like poles shove the discs open. Gaps are the spring.
